JH Label Solutions is a recognised innovative and technology driven company that leads the way in label printing techniques, material types and ink developments.

From the installation of its first press in 2008, the company has had to triple its capacity to continue its supply to the local, national and international markets with a wide range of quality self-adhesive and pressure-sensitive paper and film labels.

As part of the family-owned James Hamilton & Co. (Lurgan) Limited group of companies, it can trace its roots back to the early 1920’s. James Hamilton has other divisions that supply plastic packaging, lithographic print, office supplies, hygiene and safety equipment and transmissions and bearings. The growth has been built on a reputation for service, quality, personal contact and adding value for customer’s brands for over 80 years.

Sales and Marketing Manager, Keith McCarter said, “At the outset of the label venture we had a strategic plan to push label technology to where it had not yet been, both locally and globally. We were the first in Ireland to install automatic tension setters on rewind equipment, which has increased efficiency for numerous customers and has reduced our packaging on intricate shapes of film labels. Similarly, we were the first in Ireland to install an REA3 barcode verifier to meet GS1 standards and conform to ISO 15416. We also have arguably the only print site in Europe where all plates, die cutters, presses and finishing equipment are compatible throughout.”

He added, “Recently we researched and developed through a local reproduction facility High Definition (HD) plate making and became the first company in Ireland to produce labels where both the plates and the labels are manufactured in Ireland. The quality of both the photographic images and fine vignettes have surpassed anything achieved in flexographic printing locally, with one major high street retailer now specifying HD plates on label on artworks. This is also supported with a proofing facility and a laser die cutting operation for pre-press samples.”

The company’s reputation for quality and service has lead JH Label Solutions to now supply such companies as Linwoods, Cloughbane Farm, McGee’s, Dale Farm, Provita Veterinary, Bottle Green Drinks (SHS Group), Caledonian Bottlers, Avondale Foods, Luscombe Organics, Burlington (Haymans) and Toorank Distillers (Holland). Its labels are on such brands as Holland & Barrett, X35 Energy (Dubai) and Loblaw’s President’s Choice (Canada). Retail brands that carry its label include Marks & Spencer and Morrison’s own brand vodkas and gins, Tesco Finest cordials and Waitrose sparkling presse and cordial ranges. The brands that it supply include Old Tom Gin, Hayman’s London Dry Gin, Ron Calados Rum, and Aberdour Whisky, to name a few.

Another further major achievement was that the company was awarded both ISO 9001 and BRC accreditation in June 2011.
