Pure Water Comes a Long Way from Tipperary!

Glenpatrick Spring Water is a leading dedicated and innovative private label producer, manufacturing a range of branded and value added own label products across a wide range of sectors within the beverage spectrum. The company operates out of two manufacturing sites, in the South East of Ireland.

Commercial Manager Michael Cairns says, “Since the company was established in the 1980’s, we have developed a high reputation for the quality of our product. We started here in Clonmel with a standard cold fill bottling plant, using our pure natural mineral and spring water, as the base for all production. Our Source is drawn from limestone rocks, found beneath the southern slopes of the beautiful and conserved natural heritage area of the Slievenamon and Comeragh Mountains in County Tipperary. The Glenpatrick source, for example, is drawn from an 800m deep borehole, which captures the natural mineral water as it slowly moves from its remote recharge area in the Slievenamon Mountains, Co.

The construction and depth of this borehole ensures that only the deepest water is collected for bottling with the overlying protecting layers ensuring its continuing bacteriological and chemical quality. This site produces Water, Flavoured Waters, Botanicals, Energy and Isotonic drinks in Pet, and can also tunnel pasteurise in a range of Glass formats. The glass line is currently producing, a range of Presses’ Spritzers and Premium Carbonates for the UK&I retail sector
In 2002, Glenpatrick purchased Kilkenny Spring Water (now rebranded to Kilkenny Nutritional Beverage Company, located in Piltown, Co Kilkenny. This plant utilises a “Hot Fill” process and produces in PET and Spouted Pouch. The main USP for this plant is that the process allows for “CLEAN LABEL PRODUCTION” (no preservatives) while delivering ambient, shelf stable product. Depending on the product type and pack size, shelf life can range from 8-15 months. The plant is flexible and can accommodate relatively modest runs in comparison with the demands that aseptic production places. It is ideally suited to supporting product launches whilst limiting the customers’ exposure to large inventory Michael adds, “The market is increasingly seeking drink solutions that are preserve and additive free and these are best obtained from a Clean Label Factory. This is ideal for us as it offers a steadily increasing market for our products! We currently produce a wide array of Juicy Waters/ Vitamin enhanced Juicy Waters, Infant Grade and Neutriceutical Drinks in PET, and Smoothies, Cocktail Mixers and a range of Kids Juicy Waters in Spouted Pouch. We are currently producing products for both, major FMCG Companies in Europe and also retailers in UK, Ireland and South Africa

All of the company’s wells are accredited. Glenpatrick Spring Water operates to the highest quality standards HAACP, BRC, AIB & ISO 9001. The company undergoes a number of audits both internally and externally on a monthly basis.
The company has its own New Product Development Laboratory, and works closely with the major flavour and juice houses, to ensure our product development is ahead of the curve.

They also have a CLAS approved micro lab and validate all production runs on both sites.
A close working relationship is maintained with the packaging supply base to ensure value for money is being obtained at all times.
