Aetna wraps it up for Cockerill’s of York November 12, 2012 News Cockerill’s is a family-owned business that besides providing potatoes for processing operates a 24/7 prepack service for retailers. Its packhouse has seen a 50% increase in turnover over the last three years, facilitated by a £3m extension. It is here that the company uses its Aetna shrink wrapping machines. When spare parts were not immediately available for Cockerill’s existing pallet wrapper which had broken down, Operations Manager David Elvidge contacted Aetna on the recommendation of an existing user who has been delighted with both the equipment and the service from the company. Once contacted and in view of the immediacy of the problem, Aetna installed and programmed a ROBOPAC 507 turntable pallet wrapper in only three days, averting what could have been a costly situation. Bedford-based Aetna UK has been established in this country for over 20 years, and is a market leader in the production of vertical and horizontal stretch wrapping machines [manual, semi-automatic and automatic], and taping and case erector machines. David Elvidge was so impressed with the first machine, and with the service received from Aetna that when Cockerill decided to invest in a second pallet wrapper, he immediately contacted them again. There are now two easy-to-operate ROBOPAC machines working side by side in Cockerill’s packhouse, wrapping in excess of 200 pallets per day.
