South West Engineering Solutions (SWES) specialises in serving the food and drink sector and has, since its inception almost six years ago, worked with many blue-chip companies throughout the length and breadth of the UK.
With a wide brief that is guided by demand, SWES initially focused on project management, but the company is now building the engineering side of the business. SWES is particularly renowned when it comes to the relocation of plant and machinery, taking on the whole package, including documentation, installation and re-commissioning. In 2011, for instance, the company was commissioned to tender for removal of a medium size dairy plant for a new client. This plant consisted of a special dairy ingredients mix and fermentation plant, along with evaporation plant and steam raising boiler with associated support equipment.

The plant was systematically documented then electrically and mechanically disconnected and split as required, before the moving of plant onto transport for storage pending re-installation by SWES.
The complete operation, including H&S, mechanical, electrical and lifting/moving of plant, was delivered as a turnkey package for the client, with SWES as principal contractor and designers. Re-installation is planned for later in 2012.

Good news travels fast too, with SWES now looking at five similar jobs on a global scale: the company is working on specifications for a contract in China as we go to press.
