KIP launches C7800 instant on-demand high speed digital POS poster print system March 14, 2012 News KIP, the global specialist supplier of wide-format digital print systems, has launched their new flagship product the C7800, a high speed on-demand LED print system targeted at the quick turnaround POS poster print market. The C7800 is capable of producing UV stable, waterproof images at a constant rate of 325m2/hr regardless of ink coverage – equating to 288 x A0 or 516 x A1 POS posters per hour – and prints on to premium bond paper weights of 80, 100, 120, 140 and 150gsm, standard blue-back 115gsm poster paper and other substrates. “Quick turn around, short run poster jobs are a major headache for the graphics print market,” comments Grainger Hill of KIP UK. “especially satisfying the demands of retailers for urgent runs of 100 to 2000 POS posters, for instance. The C7800 is capable of producing over 500 full colour A1 posters in an hour directly from file with no set up or finishing time – just straight out the door to the client, instant print for instant sale. This represents a total step-change in the level of service that can be offered to the POS poster print market, and we’re already getting a massively enthusiastic response.” The C7800 also offers a high-colour satin print mode for increased colour vibrancy at a reduced speed of 197m2/hr, or 174 x A0 posters or 324 x A1 posters. High capacity flat stacking for up to 1000 A0 sheets is supplied as standard. With regards to software, the C7800 is driven by KIP’s professional KIP Color RIP application, but also has the ability to connect via application key code to other workflow solutions including Caldera V9.
