Ravenwood goes green with linerless labels at Foodex January 27, 2012 News Linerless labelling specialist Ravenwood Packaging will be exhibiting at Foodex (25-27 March) when it puts on show the very latest in linerless adhesive backed labels, and its ultra-efficient, planet-friendly labelling systems. The business, based in the UK, is involved in the production of linerless labels predominantly for the chilled food sector and the sales, servicing and supply of parts for a range of specialist applicators worldwide. The company is proving that ‘simplification’ is the new culture in the packaging arena as less packaging is now more prevalent. Labels and sleeves are continuing to win ground over other packaging formats and linerless labels are surging forward as a result of their green credentials. Ravenwood Packaging’s G270 stand will show brand-owners, manufacturers and packers how to minimise on-pack packaging without compromising design quality and how to save on paper to help reduce solid waste and to minimise escalating packaging costs. The ‘in a field of its own’ exhibition stand will feature a sleek, shiny and iconic 22 ft long US airstream trailer as the meeting-point ‘hub’ of an open field featuring life-sized and life-like farm animal replicas – including a cow, pig and a sheep! Ravenwood’s team of labelling specialists has now sold in excess of 800 machines to over 100 customers, who are selecting the high quality sleevers, applicators and labels to enhance the image of their finished products. The company’s worldwide customers are drawn mostly from the chilled food sector, buying Nobac 125, 400 and 500 labellers and sleevers but the company is already broadening its client base through the introduction of innovative new packaging ideas to include other industry sectors including drinks, healthcare, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and toiletries. Ravenwood’s MD Paul Beamish says: ‘Backingless labels with their corporate social responsibility advantage have made them the new must-have purchase for many manufacturers and retailers. While essential info needs to go on pack designers are moving to more simplified designs and minimal packaging and this means linerless labels are becoming increasingly desirable.’ ‘Impulse sales are created by constantly improved pack designs means new business which is what’s needed in these challenging economic times.’ Agents and licensees are coming on stream to help with the worldwide marketing of products. Ravenwood is now represented in a network of countries across the world including the USA, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Belgium and Denmark. www.ravenwood.co.uk About Latest Posts Publisher Latest posts by Publisher (see all) ZEO INVESTS IN LARGEST EVER BRAND RELAUNCH WITH NEW NO ADDED SUGAR RANGE & CELEBRITY AMBASSADOR CAROLINE FLACK - April 26, 2017 NEEDHAM CODING LAUNCHES FIRST OWN BRAND CONTINUOUS INK JET PRINTERS - April 25, 2017 FANUC ROBOTS CAN HANDLE THEIR BELGIUM BEER - April 25, 2017
