Aveleda Wines

Located in the heart of the Vinhos Verdes Region, in Portugal, Aveleda is a family-owned company that combines tradition and innovation since its foundation in 1870.

Aveleda’s experience and its constant will to innovate provide the keystone for creating high quality wines that have been distinguished with several national and international awards.

In 2012, the winery re-launched the brand AVELEDA which only includes white wines, from several wine regions: Vinhos Verdes, Douro and Bairrada. With different profiles, those wines express the dedication that, over the last 140 years, characterizes this family business.

Quinta da Aveleda Vinho Verde is one of the white wines produced under the AVELEDA brand. Made exclusively with grapes from the estate, this wine is a blend of the grape varieties Loureiro and Alvarinho. The floral aromas of the Loureiro merge perfectly with the tropical flavors of the Alvarinho, resulting in a rather complex and elegant wine.

Distinguished in 2011 with the International Award «Best of Wine Tourism» in the category of Architecture, Parks and Gardens, the main residence of Aveleda estate figures on the label of this wine, one of the most rewarded from the winery’s portfolio.

Besides AVELEDA, the winery produces also, among others, CASAL GARCIA. Launched in 1939, this wine is one of the greatest ambassadors of Portuguese wines worldwide. Easily identified by its bluish bottle and its unique label, Casal Garcia is a wine known for its lightness, freshness and originality.

This innovative brand keeps on surprising its consumers, with the launching in 2008 of a Rosé and in 2011 of a Sparkling version. This year, Casal Garcia was the first wine to sponsor the Optimus Alive music festival.

The recognition of the work performed by Aveleda has assured that it is nowadays one of the most prestigious Portuguese wineries.
