Packaging Automation helps create new opportunities for Beacon Foods with pot filling line January 26, 2013 News When Edward Gough MD at Beacon Foods, the UK’s leading specialist producer of roasted and char grilled vegetables and fruit ranges, relishes, chutneys and sauces saw an opportunity for new business openings he turned to PA for an automatic pot filling and sealing machine. Beacon installed an FP-6 model, a compact automated pot filler and sealer with an operating speed of 40 cycles per minute. The machine is designed for frequent product changeovers due to simple and lightweight change parts. Edward said, “We are extremely happy with the machine, PA’s service and support were outstanding throughout the installation and commissioning period. The machine is able to hot and cold fill and seal reel-fed film lids, which extends the packaging formats we can offer our customers” The versatility of the machine and its light and simple change parts, mean that pot size changes can be quickly accomplished. The machine can be supplied to seal reel-fed film or pre-cut lids and offers a number of options, including a date coder and a closed loop weight control system to automatically adjust fill volumes. The machine can also be used for dry fill such as cereal products as well as hot and cold liquid.
