Winston’s Wish, the leading charity for bereaved children, is looking for supporters to join in their Great British Brekkie week which is being held from the 10th – 16th February 2014.

Winston’s Wish wants you, together with your family, friends, colleagues or classmates, to join them and help raise £30,000 to support bereaved children by hosting a charity breakfast in February.

It is a known fact that breakfast is an important meal helping everyone, including children, have a more positive proactive day. When you start with a nutritious and balanced breakfast, you’re getting the energy you need to embrace the morning, refuelling your body and brain and kick-starting your metabolism. Life is so busy nowadays and this most important meal of the day is often forgotten.

From the 10th – 16th February Winston’s Wish is asking everyone to hold their own Great British Brekkie and revive the tradition of the Great British breakfast! This can be anything from a traditional full English to a good ol’ cuppa and toast! Let your imagination get boiling!

When? 10th – 16th February 2014

Where? ANYWHERE! Your home, work, school, village hall, local pub…the possibilities are endless!

What? Breakfast…think muesli, muffins, fresh fruit salad, pancakes with hot maple syrup, sumptuous berries with fresh cream, freshly squeezed orange juice, aromatic filter coffee, thick sizzling bacon in a doorstop sandwich or a delicious bagel filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Or why not go glam with a champagne breakfast for friends or take time out to have a tea and toast moment with your work colleagues. The possibilities are endless but they will all set you up for the day and raise vital funds for bereaved children at the same time.

How much? It’s free to register, we just ask that all of your guests donate whatever they can!

Speaking about the Great British Brekkie, Chloe Moorhead, Chief Brekker, said “Bring on the brekkie! We’re asking everyone across the country to join the breakfast revolution and support our second Winston’s Wish Great British Brekkie week. Every single penny counts and the £30,000 raised will allow us to directly support 250 children and their families before, during and after bereavement. This is fundamental in enabling bereaved children to face the future with confidence and hope and we need your support to make this happen.”

Winston’s Wish supporter Julie who took part in the first ever brekkie said, “My children and I hosted a Great British Brekkie event last February. Our local Sainsbury’s and Ocado supported us along with family and friends in our community. For our event, we chose to indulge our guests with cream cakes and Buck’s Fizz! Everyone had a fabulous time and my children and I were thrilled to raise over £800 for Winston’s Wish; a fantastic charity very close to our hearts.”
