LORIEN HELPS BISCUIT MANUFACTURER TO MEET NEW LEGISLATION September 29, 2014 News Lorien Engineering Solutions is helping a leading biscuit manufacturer to replace its refrigeration equipment. The Burton based project management specialist is on site at Fox’s Biscuits’ Uttoxeter manufacturing facility, where it is replacing existing R22 based refrigeration systems with propylene glycol based units. The biscuit manufacturer, which is part of 2 Sisters Food Group, is meeting new regulations which state that from 1 January 2015, it will be illegal to maintain or repair air conditioning systems that use R22 refrigerant. Studies have shown that they have a detrimental effect on the ozone layer. The project is being phased to minimise production disruption and is scheduled to complete in October.
