Pwinkie Power: Bonds Creates New Pink Sweets to Fight Breast Cancer September 30, 2014 News Bonds of London is proudly partnering with the Pink Ribbon Foundation to help raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer. 5p from every special edition bag of Bonds “Pwinkies” will go direct to the charity, making it one of the most generous product link ups to date. One pack of Pwinkies includes 140g of Strawberry and Cream flavour cones, bottles, mice and pig faces for £1 at RSP. Bonds joins 30 other British organisations officially supporting the Pink Ribbon Foundation this year and will be available by till points, in the pound sections or in the confectionery aisles, making it is easy to grab and go – and to donate 5p. Recent research has shown that breast cancer survival rates are increasing more quickly in Britain than in any other European country (European Breast Cancer Conference). Despite this, 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. The Pink Ribbon Foundation are committed to funding projects and providing financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or who have been affected by breast cancer or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment. Philip Courtenay-Luck, CEO of Bonds Confectionery, comments: “The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a charity very close to my own heart, and I was delighted to recreate our most pink of sweets, the Pwinkies, to help raise awareness and, most importantly, money for the Pink Ribbon Foundation. Everyone likes a little treat now and then, and we hope that people will enjoy the sweets in the knowledge they are helping the charity to help save lives.” Lisa Allen, head of corporate partnerships at the Pink Ribbon Foundation, applauded all the sponsors involved in this year’s campaign: “With so many charities fighting for great causes, we know that making it simple to donate is really important. We thank Bonds for creating this special edition sweet brand that will go towards some of our most important projects and help provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people whose lives are affected by breast cancer.” For more information about the Bonds Confectionery range of products, visit http://www.bonds-confectionery.co.uk.
