Leading colour change technology company, Datalase, has announced a new partnership with Total Brand Security – a global leader in brand protection and security. Initially targeting the food and drink industry, the companies have developed a new digital can-end printing system for infant formula.

Total Brand Security (TBS) produces both the ink formulation and the marking technology, which utilise the proprietary colour change technology from Datalase. Under the White Dot Ink brand, TBS has developed a new secure marking solution that enhances traceability, security and product authentication for products known to be at risk from counterfeiting or contamination and security issues.

Dr. Chris Wyres said: “The White Dot Ink solution is a great step forward, enabling brand owners to print high quality QR codes on can ends, which allows consumers to quickly learn more about the product and validate its authenticity by scanning the code with their mobile phone.”

Adrian Simmons, Managing Director of TBS comments: “The TBS system is a turnkey solution for manufacturers to be able to put unique codes on to packaging – everything from 2D bar codes and batch numbers through to expiration dates and websites can be included.”

TBS and Datalase are now working with a number of manufacturers of dairy products to include this enhanced product authentication solution.
