In the new year, Costa, the UK’s favourite coffee shop*, will expand its plant-based offering with Alpro Coconut For Professionals. From January 2018, customers will be able to enjoy a variety of coconut drinks at Costa stores globally, including a Coconut Mocha, Coconut Flat White and Coconut Vanilla Latte added to the menu. Coconut vanilla latte: Vanilla and coconut flavours balance with the subtle strength of the espresso in this delicious drink, which is finished with toasted coconut chips and vanilla seeds. Coconut Flat White: A balanced, refreshing coffee with a subtle coconut taste; a new take on the classic Flat White. Coconut Mocha: Rich espresso combines with the taste of indulgent, chocolatey coconut in this complex, bitter-sweet drink – the perfect combination of rich cocoa, refreshing coconut, and delicious hazelnut notes. In the UK, the launch is being supported with an integrated marketing campaign, including Above the Line advertising, as well as in-store Point of Sale, PR and social. The launch comes at a time when consumer appetite for plant-based options out of home is at an all-time high, with almost two in three consumers (62 per cent) now considering it important that their coffee shop has more than one choice of plant-based choice1. Alpro’s ‘For Professionals’ range includes three drinks, Soya, Almond and Coconut, and has been developed specifically for baristas to deliver delicious coffee without compromise. It is specially formulated for use in coffee, with consistent workability and high quality micro foam, providing a delicious tasting drink every time. With a subtle coconut flavour, the Alpro drinks in Costa will offer all customers a delicious new menu option.
