Sustainable bottled water brand Re:Water appoints former director of The O2, Lee Roberts as Commercial Director to advance the fight against single-use plastic in the industry February 14, 2022 News Re:Water announced today that Lee Roberts has joined the business as Commercial Director to drive business growth and help develop the brand. Re:Water is disrupting the bottled water industry providing spring water in bottles made from 100% aluminium to brands such as Itsu and TGI Fridays and has seen huge success through its private label offering. Roberts’ newly created role will focus on growing the Re:Water brand. With more than three decades of senior, commercial experience Roberts joins the business from commercial consultancy Canvas Partnerships where he already secured high profile listings for Re:Water at events including the G7 Summit and COP26. “Bringing Lee on board is a real coup for our young brand,” comments Ben Richardson, Co-Founder of Re:Water. “He brings a wealth of experience with an astute commercial mind. We are developing some exciting new products and having Lee on the team to take them to market will massively strengthen our position, as the work that he has already done for us with the likes of COP26 clearly demonstrates.” “I have witnessed the incredible reaction to the launch of Re:Water,” Roberts added. “Their passion and drive to improve the environment made the decision to join the team very, very easy. I’m looking forward to helping them further develop the commercial side of Re:Water and get more people drinking water out of aluminium bottles rather than single-use plastic.” Roberts’ career has seen him in roles across a number of well-known media, event and venue-based businesses. As commercial director at AEG Europe for its first decade, he was an integral member of the launch team of The O2 which immediately became the world’s most successful music venue. The Re:Water aluminium bottle can be refilled, reused and recycled. Research shows that by refilling and reusing the bottle just two and a half times will offset the added carbon emissions needed to create a Re:Water bottle. Additionally, it is a one-piece material product, meaning it is easy to recycle at roadside recycling points. Re:Water is bottled at source in Herefordshire with pure English spring water. The bottles are a sustainable and genuine solution to single-use plastic. The bottle is made from 100% recycled aluminium which uses 95% less energy to produce compared to new aluminium. Launched in 2020 Re:Water has listings across the UK at well-known venues such as Itsu, Benugo, TGI Fridays, The Barbican and Caffe Nero.
