JAR FILLING SOLUTIONS FOR CONDIMENTS FROM RIGGS AUTOPACK November 17, 2010 News An excellent reputation for supplying high quality filling machines has secured Riggs Autopack an order from The Spice Shelf, an artisan food producer who manufacture award winning chutneys and pickles. The Spice Shelf is the creation of Meher Salman. She developed the company’s high quality products by using traditional family recipes handed down through generations and since its launch in 2002, they have won 14 bronze, silver and gold honours at the Great Taste Awards. Each of their chutneys and pickles is made in small batches and their unique taste is achieved by using only fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The Spice Shelf recently gained a substantial order from a large national store. They had historically hand filled their glass jars using jugs but recognised that to keep pace they had to move away from manual filling to semi-automatic depositing. This was to be their first step into semi-automated production and it was paramount that when sourcing a new filling machine, they had complete confidence in an industry respected machine manufacturer that was able to provide a highly accurate and damage free form of volumetric depositing. Lancashire based Riggs Autopack manufacture filling machines for the food production industry. Following a successful, no-obligation machine trial held at The Spice Shelf’s Worthing premises, they placed an order with Riggs Autopack for a Model 1000 Option 1 semi-automatic filling machine. Offering outstanding deposit accuracy and damage free product handling, Riggs Autopack’s Option 1 machine is designed for food manufacturers producing short batch runs, or those companies who need to improve production rates by moving from manual filling to a more accurate and repeated process. Meher Salman is delighted with the new filling machine. She commented “I have to admit, I can’t imagine how we hand filled all those jars – never again!” About Latest Posts Medi Planet Latest posts by Medi Planet (see all) MT MITCHELL CHOOSES GT3 FOR SPEED, COST-SAVING AND RELIABILITY - November 22, 2010 Mobil SHC Cibus 32 HT – The Preferred Heat Transfer Oil forGerman Potato Chip Manufacturers - November 22, 2010 Packaging Reduction – Made Easy - November 22, 2010
