Baxters invests in new machinery for meat ball production November 12, 2012 News Baxters is to install a new Carnitech line for meat ball preparation at its site in Fochabers, Scotland. The company, which has been producing quality foodstuffs since 1868, now offers more than 150 products, and this capital investment is part of Baxters’ ongoing revitalisation of the Fray Bentos range. John Campbell, MD of Baxters, said: “I am delighted to be working with Carnitech again. I know from past experience just how reliable Carnitech machines are and their build quality and attention to detail will be a real asset to us in our meat ball production.” At the heart of the new meat ball line will be a Carnitech 280mm Combigrinder, one of a new generation of Carnitech machines, which has been developed with a renewed focus on hygiene, throughput, product quality, safety and energy efficiency. Ruben Sørensen, Sales Manager of Carnitech, said: “Supplying equipment for such a prestigious name as Baxters is obviously very pleasing for us. We have been working hard in developing our range and have minimised power consumption through a ‘soft start’ facility.” Mark Bishop, Joint MD of the Interfood Group, Carnitech’s representative in the UK and Ireland, said: “Carnitech has proved an excellent addition to our range of processing equipment, fitting perfectly our philosophy of quality machines backed by quality service.” The new processing line will be capable of producing in excess of four tons of meat balls per hour and the system will require only two operators.
