BARBERS CHEESEMAKERS ADDS FORMULA ONE TO THE 1833 STABLE

The Barber family, makers of ‘1833’, an award- winning West Country farmhouse cheddar, and proud owners of Aiteen Thirty Three a Paul Nicholls trained thoroughbred race horse, has agreed to extend the prestigious 1833 brand name to the world of Formula One.

An 1833 branded Formula One racing car was unveiled earlier this week in Ditcheat, Somerset where Barber’s 1833 cheese is made and Ainteen Thirty Three is stabled. The corrugated board Formula One replica car was designed by Atlas Packaging of Barnstaple as a competition prize earlier this year and Barber’s were the lucky winners.

The Car was designed by Atlas’s structural design team in response to a brief to develop a promotional ‘vehicle’ to entice visitors to the Atlas Packaging stand at the Food and Drink Expo at the NEC. The creative team interpreted the brief quite literally by developing an expertly crafted replica Formula One car made from 100% recycled corrugated board. The Atlas Graphics team then designed the graphics in keeping with the traditional Formula One style.

Visitors to the stand were invited to enter a competition to win the car branded with their own company logo and Barber’s lapped the competition to take first prize.

Barber’s, a family run business since 1833, is one of the UK’s most highly regarded cheddar producers and have been making cheddar at the Dairy in Ditcheat, Somerset, for six generations. The Barber family also have a highly successful history in horseracing, most notably with the legendary Denman.
