Sustainable solutions from Nicholl

A number of new products demonstrating their sustainability credentials will be unveiled by food packaging specialist Nicholl Food Packaging at the easyFairs Ecopack exhibition at the NEC in February.

Nicholl will launch a variety of aluminium trays with enhanced convenience and a new “eco-friendly” range from the company’s extended product portfolio, which now includes fibre pulp trays, paperboard trays enhanced with plastic coating and rim, dual-ovenable board trays, ovenable greaseproof paper bakery trays, film lidding, and film for thermoforming.

The new foil trays are liddable smoothwall variants which feature integrated handles and Nicholl will be promoting aluminium trays’ environmental profile as a permanent material that is both 100% and infinitely recyclable.

Full details of the “eco-friendly” range will be revealed at the show. The hybrid board and plastic tray features board sourced from renewable wood and offers a more sustainable alternative to plastics for a wide variety of products including fresh ready to cook meals and cooked meats. Nicholl will also be showcasing its ovenable board trays, which provide a leak-proof pack suitable for a variety of chilled and frozen applications and further products, including a new Greaseproof tray design, Oliver moulded pulp trays, Saica Form trays and Plastopil Toplex films.
